What is it ? The coastline of Gragoatá campus offers one of the most delightful views of the city. From there, it is possible to see Rio-Niteroi Bridge, Rio de Janeiro’s financial center, Guanabara Bay and the Sugar Loaf. The sunset is especially beautiful. |

What is it? Known as the “Post Office Palace”, for its greatness, it was founded in 1914 by President Venceslau Brás. Recently restored, it houses, on the first floor, two exhibition rooms and a room for workshops. On the second floor, there are four exhibition halls, the historic room and an auditorium which hosts music and audiovisual events and seminars. |

What is it? Founded in 1973, it is one of the most traditional in the metropolitan area and it offers really fresh and even rare fish and seafood. It is located at Ponta D'Areia, andcounts with 39 market stalls, where you can buy and take the seafood to be prepared at one of the restaurants and bars on the market second floor. |

What is it? This is an unfinished boadwalk projected by Oscar Niemeyer. The path has three completed works of the architect. One of them is the Roberto Silveira’s Memorial , opened isince 2003, it has appoximately 200,000 digitized titles about the city and the former governor Roberto Silveira. At the Niemeyer Way, there’s also the Popular Theatre, created in 2007, and the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation

Museu Petrobras de Cinema (Niemeyer Pathway)
Address: Visconde do Rio Branco Avenue, 1354 - Santo Domingo
What is it? Designed to be the largest cinematography museum in Brazil, it will also host coffee shops, bookstore, and movie theaters. Its opening to the public is due to August 2016.

MAC - Contemporany Art Museum (Niemeyer Pathway)

What is it? Designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, MAC has become one of Niteroi’s postcards.

What is it? It is a seven-meter high stone that is similar to an Indian’s head with headdress. It is located in Icarai Beach.Pedra de Itapuca

What is it? Itapuca, in Tupi, means "holed stone" or " rock arch". It is so called because that was how it looked like when the road was built to connect the Icaraí and João Caetano beaches (now Arrow Beach). It is reproduced in Niteroi’s flag and coat of arms. It also inspired the legend of Cauby and Jurema Indians. Over the years, this point of the beach became a famous surfing spots in the city and the state.Josquin Desprez Museum

What is it? A museum with Joaquin Desprez’ works. Besides his paintings, the place includes the house and studio of the artist, who was born in Niteroi. It has not only a representative national collection but also a significant foreign one.  |

What is it? A Large house built in 1872 by Portuguese tradesman Bento Joaquim Alves Pereira. The building is a huge loft, built in a wooded farm and covered with typical of Portuguese tiles.  |

What is it? Opened in 2012, it is divided in two neoclassical facade houses 1862. So called as a tribute to the architect, researcher and expert in Brazilian folk art, Janet Costa, from Pernambuco but who lived part of her life in Niterói. |

Ingá Museum

What is it? Based in the old Nilo Peçanha Palace - Inga Palace. It was once the seat of the state government of Rio de Janeiro. It houses a 4,800 pieces collection, including furniture, porcelain, documents, sculptures and photographs.

Parque da Cidade
Endereço: Acesso pela estrada da Viração, São Francisco. De carro, táxi ou van (fretada). O acesso de ônibus não é permitido, devido à sinuosidade e ao aclive.
O que é: área de preservação ambiental (APA) do município, localizado no alto do morro da Viração, numa altitude de 270 metros, ocupando uma área de 149.388,90 m². Foi inaugurado em 1976. Possui um mirante com visão panorâmica das Lagunas, Praias Oceânicas, bairros de Niterói, relevo do Rio de Janeiro, Ponte Rio-Niterói, Baía de Guanabara, em toda a sua extensão, e do mar aberto, até onde a vista consegue alcançar. O parque é muito freqüentado pelos praticantes de voo livre, que encontram duas rampas para a prática deste esporte.

Praia de São Francisco

O que é: Possui 750m de extensão, amendoeiras e gramíneas que ocupam parte da praia. Suas águas são calmas, com areai clara e fina. Localiza-se numa área residencial. Conta com calçadão em toda a orla usado para passeios, jogging e ciclismo. É ideal também para a prática de esportes à vela. É margeada por bares e restaurantes elegantes, pontos da maior badalação noturna da cidade.

O que é: Compre umas cervejas, sente nas pedras ao final da enseada e aprecie o pôr-do-sol.

O que é: Primeira fortaleza erguida na Baía de Guanabara, sua origem data de 1555. Já em 1612, contando então com vinte bocas de fogo, passa a ser chamada de Fortaleza de Santa Cruz da Barra. Sofreu várias reformas até a construção atual, datada de 1870, composta de 41 casamatas, distribuídas em dois andares, com canhões seculares. Destacam-se ainda a capela de Santa Bárbara, em estilo colonial; o relógio de sol de 1820, em mármore; as prisões coloniais; os pontos de tortura; o local de fuzilamento e um antigo paiol. Na pracinha funciona um restaurante.

O que é: Os Fortes São Luiz e do Pico são construções de épocas distintas e encontram-se situados em um mesmo sítio histórico, à retaguarda da Fortaleza de Santa Cruz da Barra. O Forte de São Luiz, construído entre 1769 e 1775, situa-se numa área íngreme, entre os morros do Pico e da “Calhambola”; e o Forte do Pico, construído entre 1913 e 1918, situa-se mais a cima, no topo do morro. O acesso ao sítio histórico é feito pelo Forte Barão do Rio Branco, localizado no nível do mar. Deste ponto ao sítio histórico o acesso se dá por uma subida sinuosa, numa trilha asfaltada, que pode ser realizada por serviço de van.
Estação do Catamarã de Charitas

O que é: Estação de barcas desenhada por Oscar Niemeyer. Possui cafés e lojas. Integra o Caminho Niemeyer.
OCEAN REGION
MAI – Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu
Endereço: Praça do Canhão, s/n, Itaipu
O que é: Instalado nas ruínas do antigo Recolhimento de Santa Teresa (séc. XVIII), o MAI tem um acervo formado por mais de 1.000 peças, dentre elas artefatos encontrados no sítio arqueológico Duna Grande e blocos-testemunhos do sambaqui de Camboinhas, que evidenciam a presença do homem na região há 8.000 anos.

O que é: Possui em seus arredores uma vegetação exuberante e suas águas são transparentes e azuladas. Área de preservação ambiental do Parque Estadual da Serra da Tiririca. Situa-se entre os costões do Alto Mourão e do Morro das Andorinhas. Sua extensão de areia é de 700m. No recanto direito, fica a “Prainha”, paraíso para as crianças. Muito freqüentada e procurada pela juventude. Em seus costões, pratica-se também o surfe de pedra. É um paraíso para os surfistas e bodyboarders.
